4. Gifts in a will are subject to Capital Acquisitions Tax (CAT). Depending on the person who is receiving the gift there are different tax free thresholds that apply. These thresholds are affecting by any gifts that you give a person during your lifetime and will reduce the threshold the person can receive in your will. The thresholds that apply can often change and please speak to us and we can advise you on what applies when you are making your will.
